Frederick's name is inscribed on the Soldiers and Sailors Monument at Eastside Park, Paterson, New Jersey. He gave his life in the Civil War.
(There is some question as to whether this is the correct Frederick Demouth who died in the Civil War. I believe this is the correct Frederick because: He is one of two Frederick Demouths I know of who were in New Jersey and the right age to be in the Civil War. The other Frederick is the son of Jirah Demouth. Jirah is buried in the Demouth Cemetery with his parents and with a Frederick Demouth, whose wife Jane and baby Araminta are also buried there. I assume that to be the Frederick, son of Jirah, leaving Frederick, son of Jacob to be the Civil War soldier buried at Cold Harbor.)
