[771] John and Anna Nicklas's ninth child was Jacob Nicklas. Sophia says Jacob served in the Civil War but I haven't found his record. If he did he would have do so as a very young teenager. He died in 1873 of Tuberculosis.

Last Will & Testament of Thomas Stevens ~In the name of God Amen, I Thomas Stevens of Onslow in the county of Halifax and Province of Nova Scotia and in the District of Colchester, Yeoman being in perfect mind and memory, (tho in low state of Health) Thanks be given unto God ! Calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die. Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament, That is to say, principally and first of all I give and Recomend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my Body, I recomend to the earth to be buried in decent and Christian burial at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubtin gbut at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, And as touching such Worldly Estate whereof it hath pleased God to bless me in this life ~ I give devise and dispose of the same in the form and manner following & first I Give and bequeath to Catherine my dearly beloved wife, All my Real and personall property which I now possess and may hereafter be entitled to by Will, legacy or heirship in the Town of Onslow and otherwise as the case may be, to be for her whole use and benefit, during her Natural life, and after to be disposed of by her to and among my dearly beloved Children Viz. Elizabeth Stetson, Mary Ann Sims, William Stevens, Margaret McElhinney, Ezra Stevens, excepting My beloved son James Clark Stevens, to whom I have given and disposed all the share of my property which I intended for him excepting five shilling which I give and bequeath to him said James Clark Stevens in full for his share of my Estate as aforesaid, all such remaining property and Estate as aforesaid to be sisposed as above in the maner and form and way as she said Catharine Stevens may think and conceive most proper, and also I make Constitute and ordain Cahterine my beloved Wife my Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, And I do hereby order and allow My beloved Wife Catharine, as executrix to this my last Will and Testament to pay and discharge all my Just and lawfull debts due by me to any persons whatsoever together with all expences which is or may be against said Estate, and I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannull all and every other former Testaments, Wills, Leagecies, beqeaths and Executors by me in any way or way before made, Willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, This the Twenty third day of August in the year of our Lord, One Thousand eight hundred and Twenty eight.Signed, Sealed, Published and declaredby the said Thomas Stevens, and Prinouncedby the said Thomas Stevens, as his last Will THOMAS STEVENSand Testament in the presence of us who arein his presence and in the presence of eachother have hereunto subscribed our names ~Nath'l MarstersRobert McCurdyAlexander McCurdy
