The Wendy Benton May Day Award

Start by Doing what's Necessary;

Then do what's possible;

And suddenly you are doing the impossible!

St. Francis of Assisi

This year's recipient of the award is Debbie Slotten, President of the LaFollette High School Booster Club.

When an individual volunteers their precious gift of time, it is a quiet way to ensure that the world is a better place to live. For all of the sacrifices Debbie and her family have made for the Booster Club and it's many activities she is recognized. She has consistently shown her commitment to young people, education and the larger community. Whether Debbie is planning a teacher appreciation luncheon, working at a food booth, coordinating a fund raising event or advocating for the newest health care technology she is enhancing the lives of others in a positive way. For the many things that Debbie has accomplished and the many projects she continues to pursue, many marvel at how she can add more to her already full schedule! Through this award a sincere thank you is expressed for Debbie's devotion to the preservation of the public school system and the young people's lives who will grow up to be the next generation of leaders among us.

As a token of gratitude for your willingness to accept the challenges of this activity I would like to share this basket of good wishes with you.

Sincerely,

Kathy Dustin
